"Does it scale?" Is always the wrong question to ask.
There's a huge difference between scalability and repeatability. Focus on repeatability until you've establish enough market fit that scalability even matters. I can't tell you how many startups I've seen invest their seed round into building a robust architecture and scalable infrastructure and then never seeing enough market adoption to need it (this seems almost endemic with Y Combinator).
By investing in repeatability and clearing the path to adoption, then you'll have the cash-flow or leverage you need to raise your Series A or keep boot-strapping. Then scaling infrastructure is the easy part.
